Congregational Workshop

May 31, 2025

The Call Committee is excited to offer the NALC Preparatory Workshop to our congregation before they begin to seek a head pastor for our church!

On May 31st, the workshop will feature two specific parts led by The Rev. Rodney W. Lilley, Dean of our Atlantic Mission Region: 
     

  • A Bible Study featuring readings dealing with events when God called His people in mission and ministry.  We will discuss how God’s word applies to our congregation at the current time, God's vision for us in the future, and what it says about our Call Process. 

  • An open forum to hear from our congregation what we desire in our mission and ministry in Roanoke, and the gifts and talents our future Pastor should possess to fulfill the joint mission and ministry of the congregation.  The information provided by our congregation will then be used by the Call Committee to complete our Congregational Profile.  The Congregational Profile is the document that will be shared with potential Pastoral Candidates and will be the basis for interviewing them.

Call Conversations

These meetings are designed to meet you where you are.

To provide clarity and answer any questions through this process, the Call Committee is willing to send representatives to meet with Bible Studies, Life Together groups, families or even a group after Sunday worship.  In short, we are happy to meet with you wherever and however we gather as a church family!
