Ignited by Christ's love, we shine together, spreading His light to the world.

At St. John, our vision is to equip and empower students to walk as mature disciples of Christ: servant leaders who are used by God to make a difference in the world to His glory.

We believe that each youth is a valuable member of the body of Christ. God has given each student a unique calling and many gifts that he desires to use to serve the Church and the world. Our hope for our young people is to know the Lord more fully- to walk with him in loving obedience, and to have a deeper relationship with him. We desire to serve them, and to help them live out their Christian faith.

We would like to invite you to take part in what God is doing this year in St. John’s youth ministry!

Sunday School: All middle and high school students are invited to join us Sunday mornings from 9:45am to 10:45am upstairs in room 214 for a Bible study on the book of Romans.  The study will be led by Rick Robers.

Confirmation: Sunday Morning starting in September and continuing through May. Meeting at 9:45-10:45 a.m. upstairs in room 216. Youth grades 8-12 eligible to enroll. This class is designed to inform and equip youth to live out their faith on their own by giving them the tools they need to understand God, spirituality, the Bible, the Christian worldview, key Christian doctrines, Lutheranism, apologetics, discipleship, mission, and more! Led by Trent Thompson.

Youth Group: Middle School and High school both meet from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Dessert will be provided at the beginning. Youth group is our primary youth activity where we play, worship, live in community, and learn about God in a real and deep way.

ETeen : CBS (Community Bible Study) meets at our church on Monday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm every Monday. All students in grades 6-8 are welcome to attend.

Wednesday Morning Devotions: 7:00 a.m. at Bojangles on Brambleton. Open to all youth. Come to get refreshed and recharged before school. Receive mentorship and encouragement as you seek to live out your faith in the real world.

Leadership Small Group: Youth who are interested in taking a leadership role in the youth group meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm. Youth in this small group play an active role in the planning of service projects, fellowship activities, and mission trips.

We want to empower youth to participate in God's mission in the world through appropriate mission opportunities.

We’ve mobilized teams from both High School and Middle School for service and relational ministry projects.  Teams have traveled to Nicaragua, MN, WV and other parts of VA.  Groups have also served locally with Habitat for Humanity, Manna Ministries and the Rescue Mission.
