The chancel choir takes a break during the summer; however, we have a
special choir just for the summer. Consider making this a family ministry. You’ve heard
the saying: "The family that prays together, stays together."
When we sing, we share our faith, and we pray. So . . . singing is great
family togetherness!
Our summer choir rehearsals are usually about an hour long. We may
prepare a musical offering (one that’s easy to sing), or a
setting of the psalm. It’s okay for attendance to be irregular due to
vacation plans and general family fun. Just come as often as you can.
That’s why we need lots of people to participate. It would be
wonderful to have enough people to divide up and sing at both Sunday
morning services, just as the "regular" choir does.
It would be great to have some instrumental music, too, during our
summer worship services. Do you play an instrument? Could you share your
talents this summer? It would be very helpful if you have appropriate
music to play, but I will do my best to find something for you if you’re
interested.
Come share your gifts, lift your voice and your spirit—be a part of
music ministry this summer! Sign up on the bulletin insert this Sunday,
or call me at the church office.
