Holy Week
2007 Schedule
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday is the first day of
Lent. The application of ashes
in the form of a cross on one's forehead on Ash Wednesday has long marked the
beginning of the Lenten season for at least a couple of reasons. Ashes symbolize
our own mortality, invoked in the Ash Wednesday declaration, “Remember you are
ashes and to ashes you shall return.” Ashes are also associated with remorse for
sin and a dedication to repentance. So the ashes of Ash Wednesday vividly remind
us of our need for God's salvation and our desire to return to the Lord in
holiness, love, and truth. That the ashes are received in the sign of the cross
underscores Christ's sacrifice for us to make possible our salvation and our
return to God. So let us step forward into Lent bearing a cross of ashes.
Worship services are scheduled at noon
and 7:00 p.m. Check bulletin and newsletter for announcements.
Lenten Worship Services
Lenten services
are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:15 p.m. Check
bulletin and newsletter for announcements.

Friday services at noon and at 7:00 p.m., and a Saturday evening Easter
Vigil at 9:00 p.m.

Sunday with an 8:15 a.m. worship service, have an Easter breakfast
prepared and served by our youth at 9:15 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. service and
