PRAYER & CARE MINISTRY TEAMS

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are lay people who are trained to provide confidential and compassionate Christian care to people in times of change or crisis in their lives.

PRAYER MINISTRY

We strive to follow Jesus’ example of daily prayer.  This ministry offers several prayer opportunities including prayer groups and services, an email prayer chain, intercessory prayer and a prayer card ministry. A new "healing prayer" ministry is also forming.

VISITATION MINISTRY

Volunteers regularly visit elderly members who are in nursing homes or other church members who are homebound to provide fellowship, support and encouragement.

MEALS MINISTRY

Volunteers in this ministry prepare and deliver meals to church members who have experienced a birth, illness or death in the family or are dealing with a life situation that leaves them unable to prepare their own meals.

HANDYMAN MINISTRY

This ministry provides handyman labor at the homes of the elderly, widows, and others in the congregation who are unable to perform these types of tasks for themselves.

MEMORIAL LUNCHEONS

This team comes together on an as-needed basis to provide a reception and a light meal for family and friends following a memorial service.

REQUEST PRAYER OR SUPPORT

Pastoral staff and volunteers are always available to provide prayer and support during tough times. If you are in need of support, or if you would like to be a part of any of the Prayer and Care teams at St. John, please email Jim Hain.
