a message from the Pastor:
Dear Friends in Christ,
It's easy to coast as a congregation. Happens all the time.
Come to worship, dabble in some committee work or a special project here
and there, and send in the occasional contribution envelope. Then
call it a day.
That's not the usual description that comes to mind when I think of St.
John Evangelical Lutheran Church - and I want to make sure that it never
is! Especially not now, not with several open staff positions, not
with the Holy Spirit putting into our hearts a deepening desire to widen
our ministries and mission, and not with groundbreaking and expanding the
church facilities.
Just too much is at stake for the sake of Christ and His
Gospel to slacken up now. I believe instead God is giving us the
perfect opportunity to step up as a family of faith in faith, each one of
us grasping a particular ministry, a certain area of service to claim for
God's glory, so that we can go forward in a collective journey of
discipleship.
Included in these pages are descriptions of all our
ministries and what is involved with them. You can access them using
the links to your left.
This is what we need to do:
Now's the time, brothers and sisters. Now's the
time.
Your fellow disciple,
Pastor Mark
