Worship Support
It takes a community to bring worship to life and we integrate and utilize the gifts of all age groups on a regular basis. Where can you engage to support the expressions of worship?

Acolytes

Youth in grades 5-12 can join the Order of St. John, a team that helps lead worship in our traditional services. Duties include lighting the candles and leading our worship procession. Shepherd: Corey Paxton
 

Altar Guild

Volunteers prepare the Lord’s Supper for the worship service. They care for the communion ware and the altar area. Training is provided. Shepherd: Gail Schumacher
 

Bread Bakers

Try your hand at baking communion bread about once a quarter. We provide the recipe! Shepherd: Linda Cressman
 

Children’s Chapel

Our young worshipers age Kindergarten-3rd Grade are invited to attend Children’s Chapel during worship where the scripture lessons are delivered through drama, song, puppets and crafts. Volunteers are welcome to engage the children in this interactive learning process. Shepherd: Vicki Paxton
 

Communion Servers

We welcome you to join us in serving the Lord’s Supper. Training is provided. Shepherd: Gwen Jung
 

Greeters

Be the first to say “hello” to folks on Sunday morning. Shepherd: Gwen Jung
 

Lectors

Volunteers read the lessons from the Old and New Testaments that are part of the lectionary for a particular Sunday. Shepherds: Andrea LeGault and Helen Giannini
 

Media Technicians

Using the program MediaShout, this team runs the visual media for the contemporary services in the Great Room. Training is provided. Shepherd:Chris DeFalco
 

Offering Counters

Scheduled in teams of two to count the offering. Typically serve two months during the year and counting takes 2-3 hours on a Sunday afternoon. Shepherd:: Tere Salmons
 

Sound Ministers

Record worship services for the WOW ministry. Training is provided. Shepherd: Brian Butenschoen
 

Ushers

Provide assistance and direction before and during the worship service to help people find seats, get bulletins, collect the offering and guide the communion process. Training is provided.Shepherd: Gwen Jung
 

411 Center

Welcome and hospitality center to greet visitors and help people find classrooms. Shepherd: LuAnn Ferguson
 

Café St. John

Set up and serve coffee and snacks between services. Shepherd: Debra Phillips
