The beautiful brick structure adjacent to our
sanctuary is the St. John Columbarium. A
Service of
Dedication was held on March
15th 1998 for the Columbarium.
The Columbarium is a garden with
a wall that contains niches, where the ashes of
members and their families may be interred or where those buried elsewhere may
be remembered on its memorial wall. Each niche can hold up to two urns and
will be marked with a brass plate indicating the name, birth, and death dates of
the deceased.
On the floor of the Columbarium is a
cross of memorial bricks that may be purchased to honor anyone. In
addition to fulfilling its intended purpose, the donated benches and landscaping
have helped to make this a lovely, peaceful place in which to come for
meditation, reflection, prayer, and remembrance.
